This is the good life

Hello Everyone,

This song seems to be the theme song of the... well, month. Check it out below.

In other news, the internship was amazing this week. As you may have guessed I am a borderline workaholic and I got a ton of hours this week and was actually able to do my job. It's been good.

I must admit, it's difficult to give you an update when everything is going so well. So, because of that I am going to cut this short and remind you to contact me with any questions you have. Whether new freshman or new high school seniors, I'm here to help, so let me know if you need anything.

Oh, and guys living in McAuley, let me know what floor you're on, I may just be your RA. Wouldn't that be cool!

Hope summer is going well for all.

Joe

Internship continues

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all enjoying this heat. Just remember, in six months we'll be complaining about the cold, that's what gets me through.

I am still down here in Williamsburg, Virginia and everything is going GREAT! I haven't actually done much in my position because the park is still running a minimum capacity, but I've been told that once the schools get out I will assume my more supervisory position instead of the team member position that I have been living for the last two weeks. The park has been having about 1-2 thousand guests a day, but over the next two weeks we will begin having between 8-12 thousand a day, so there are big changes coming to my job in the next couple weeks.

One of the really cool parts of this Busch Gardens Internship is the weekly speaker series that we get to see. Last week was merchandise and this week was financial services. Now, that sounds horrible, but once you take even a basic accounting class you can really keep up with the terminology and understand the basics of how a company operates, especially a company as large and complex as SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment.

In short, I have finally settled in and am loving my internship.

I hope everyone is enjoying this summer weather and excited for the journey that lies ahead of them. I would have never been able to foresee this journey I am on, but I am now so thankful for the guidance and empowerment that has been provided to me by Mercyhurst.

Joe

Summer in motion

Hello Everyone,

Now over 400 miles from home and school, summer is now in motion. Starting new jobs and completing orientations and trainings are no fun. Again, I am working at Water Country USA and fully understanding the slowdown of life after school.

I am now facing the reality of working my way back up. I gave up my leadership role for an opportunity to enhance myself in the industry I love, but its no picnic. After less than a week it can be frustrating, but I am keeping that chin up and moving towards the future. Today's quote of the day was:

"Don't waste your life in doubts and fears: spend yourself on the work before you, well assured that the right performance of this hour's duties will be the best preparation for the hours or ages that follow it."
Ralph Waldo Emerson

If any graduates are following, congratuations. New seniors, yes, it is your time to make your decisions. If you have any questions regarding Mercyhurst please feel free to contract me.
Enjoy summer!
