I am senior Communication Major with a concentration
in Strategic Communication, and a minor in Marketing at Mercyhurst University
in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Off campus, my hobby and passion is amusement parks. I am not only a lover of roller coasters, but of the industry as a whole. The industry is one that is mobile, agile, and full of excitement, excitement that motivates me and remains something that I wants in my future. This summer I had an amazing opportunity to get involved in the industry while traveling to Chicago to work for Six Flags Great America. I was a marketing intern and had the opportunity to work with internal sales, promotions, advertising and public relations.
In November 2011, I had the opportunity to participate in the 2011 IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) Attractions Expo in Orlando, Florida, an honor bestowed on only 27 people. There I was a show ambassador and had the opportunity to mingle with people from around the industry and world. I'm excited to report that I have been invited to return in November 2012.
I have also spent time in Williamsburg, Virginia and working at Water Country USA, the water park associated with Busch Gardens Williamsburg and part of the SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment Company.

Born and raised in Erie Pa, Erie is still my home. While
most of my time is invested in classes and school related activities, I
work at The Barber National Institute, which is a facility dedicated to
helping those with special needs. At BNI, I am a lifeguard and swim
instructor. During the winter, I am actively involved in high school swimming
as a PIAA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association) swimming
official.
At school, I am a Freshman Resident Assistant, school
Ambassador, President of the Mercyhurst Chapter of the National Broadcasting
Society and President of the Public Relations
Student Society of America. In November 2011, I led a team of nine NBS
members to host the 2011 Freedom States Convention, which included 100 students
from the tri-state visiting Mercyhurst University for two days. I was in charge
of assuring the event was a success, which it was, so much so that our chapter
went on to receive the 2011 Chapter of the Year from the society's chapter advisers. Today, I am pursuing the implementation of a departmental organizational
student board, which would increase communication between students, student
organizations and the department faculty.
